Dangerous Health Care
Did you know that in the current health care bill being debated, there is a provision in it REQUIRING doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies to SEND YOUR PERSONAL MEDICAL RECORDS to the Dept. of Health and Human Services for the purpose of "ensuring best practice"? It literally calls for bean counters and bureaucrats to look at flowcharts for illnesses, and based on that flowchart, determine if you get the services and medications your doctor has prescribed? Pres. Obama has ALREADY ESTABLISHED a board that will determine what kind of services are "ensuring best practice". Sounds like rationing to me. Medicare already rations the health care they are responsible for. Just look on your doctors cabinet next time you are in the exam room. "Medicare may not cover these tests, even if your doctor deems it medically necessary." And, yes, the poster is italicized, too.
In the Porkulus package that was passed earlier this year, (yes, the one that has $8 billion dollars earmarked for a high speed train between Hollywood and Vegas) it was decreed that all healthcare providers must have Electronic Medical Records (EMR) by 2012. No more paper charts.
This is a TERRIBLE and WASTEFUL law. If going to EMR's was such a great idea, how come Lawyers don't do it? How come the White House doesn't do it? How come the Courts don't do it? How many times have you had a scare about getting a virus? Or your computer not working for no good reason? Or the network at work not responding?
And did you know that the Chinese stole some plans for our TOP SECRET F22 raptor earlier this year? And that for about the last month North Korea has been cyber attacking the White House, Dept. of Defense, and other sensitive targets? AND WE CAN'T STOP THEM! We can't even get teenagers to quit hacking things.
If we can't protect high priority security targets like the White House, DOD, or Los Alamos Labs, do you think the Dept. of Health and Human Services can protect your medical information? I don't think so, either.
Pres. Obama has also called for the removal of MRI's and CT scans from rural america. He, and his ilk, think that giving MRI's and CT scanners to doctors and hospitals in rural America is driving up costs, and wants to eliminate them to save money. All he is doing is DENYING and RATIONING care. If doctors in rural Iowa finally are able to get a used machine so the poor and elderly don't have to come to Des Moines or Iowa City to get a test, I think that is a good thing. But Pres. Obama, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Henry Waxman, and our very own Rep. Leonard Boswell and Sen. Tom Harkin want to restrict care to the elderly and poor in the rural communities by denying the use of CT's and MRI's.
What a bunch of uncaring idiots. And I thought W was bad.
